Congratulations on taking this step for yourself. I am Sabrina Adkinson and I have over 11 years of experience in the behavioral health field. My counseling style is holistic, client-centered, and solution-focused collaborative approach; I believe that we should work together to get you to a better you. I have supported a wide range of clients in various treatment settings to include outpatient mental health, acute hospitalization, schools, and alcoholism/substance abuse facilities. My client population has included people from all walks of life. I’ve supported adolescents, adults, couples, and groups; many with alternative lifestyles, military associations, and some in the LBGTIQ community. My clients’ presenting concerns have included issues related to depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, phobias, trauma, communication, stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder, coping, anger management, social skills, problem-solving, and self-exploration.
As a Marriage and Family Resident, I am working to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia. I also hold a license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia and Virginia. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Columbia College and a Master of Science Human Services with a concentration in Counseling Studies and Marriage and Family from Capella University. I bring my past and current knowledge and experiences to this profession; and I look forward to partnering with you to move forward!
