Lucy is a Northern Virginian native, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and her Master’s degree in Social Work at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She is currently working towards her clinical social work licensure in Virginia.
She has had multiple internships with the Early Childhood Education unit at Northern Virginia Family Service organization, City of Alexandria in the Early Childhood Education unit, and City of Alexandria Adult Protective Services unit, as well as over 15 years of experience working with children and families with the Summer Camp programs, after-school programs, and mentoring programs in Fairfax County and Loudoun County.
Lucy’s integrations of therapies combine psycho-education, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-centered therapy, self-awareness, and mindfulness to assist clients in understanding their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions in order to make healthy positive changes. Lucy approaches her work with clients by focusing on their strengths and empowering clients in utilizing them in attaining their future goals.
Within the Social Work field, the belief of “Self-Care” is highly recommended and encouraged. Lucy finds self-care through meditation, Yoga, Pilates, hiking, camping, exploring nature, and surrounding herself with family and friends.
