Dr. Janis Manalang is the Founder and Director of the Key Center. She has a passion for helping others and their families put forth the effort in reaching their utmost potential. She earned her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University located in South Florida. Dr. Manalang is licensed in the State of Florida, Virginia and District of Columbia. Dr. Manalang completed and earned her Doctorate in Education: Focusing on Counseling and Supervision where she completed her dissertation topic of Cyberbullying. She has also worked with numerous local universities (Argosy, George Mason, Marymount, etc) and other notable online Counseling programs (Northwestern, Wake Forest, Walden, etc) supporting student interns and providing them the opportunity to earn their hours and practice their skills helping others.
She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and other subdivisions. During her doctoral internship, she worked on professional development with ACA and was provided presentation opportunities in several conferences presenting the following topics: Counseling professional updates, Professional Consultation & Private Practice and Mental Health. She also worked on other committees within the organization.
She appeared in Oprah’s OWN network, Unfaithful, Season 2.
She attends and is a member of Grace Covenant Church located in Chantilly, VA. During her spare time and away from professional duties, Janis enjoys working out, shopping, learning, traveling and spending time with loved ones.
